The Milwaukee Bucks would want to acquire six matches in 2017-18 than they did throughout the 2016-17 campaign, to give over bettors a payout. That is not an unreasonable leap for such a young and talented team, but it is still somewhat unrealistic–even in the diminished Eastern Conference.
This roster is pervaded by upside. Just imagine how great Giannis Antetokounmpo, Khris Middleton, Malcolm Brogdon, Jabari Parker and Thon Maker’s core may become. Throw D.J. Wilson, Tony Snell and then Greg Monroe to the equation.
But questions persist.
Parker might not return to the lineup until after the All-Star break as he rehabs the second torn ACL of his basketball career, which puts an excessive amount of pressure on Antetokounmpo or among those unproven kids to shoulder moments at power forward.
Maker is by no means a lock to become valuable in 2017-18, and regression could hit Brogdon after his Rookie of the Year campaign.
The Bucks will be enjoyable. They should be thought of a playoff lock. However, their development might not be as quick as some anticipate unless all of the crucial pieces remain healthy and do not force the training team to rely to a less stimulating bench.
