Last week we received a top secret call from a top secret client who wanted us to do a top secret car wrap to help promote an awesome TV show!!
What show is it?
That’s a secret. 😉
What we can tell you is that this wrapped car will be revealed at a promotional event taking place at SAN DIEGO COMIC-CON 2012!!!!! WOOO-HOOOOO!
So after our inner nerds/children exploded with excitement, we sat down and figured out what type of car we were wrapping.
Turns out they wanted us to wrap a 2013 Hyundai Elantra. There was only one slight problem with that…. it’s 2012 bro. That means no car template would exist for at least another year.
No problem, we don’t need no stinkin’ template. We’ll just measure the car in person. Which brings us to Problem #2, the car is on it’s way from China and wont be ready to wrap until 2 days before Comic Con begins.
What our client DID have was measurements of the car from Hyundai itself and a link to some photos of a 2013 Elantra. We rolled up or sleeves and put on our thinking caps until the proverbial light bulb popped up over our heads.
We realized due to all of the handy-dandy posts on this blog, we could take the pictures/measurements of the car to go from this…
BOOM! Crisis averted. We had our template hot and ready so we shipped it off to our client which used it to set up the artwork for their wrap.
After a few days we got the artwork back, which looked sick!!! I don’t want to give too much away, but we’re going to give you loyal bloggies a peek at the mock-up our client provided (within our legal confines).
Check back next week where I will be blogging LIVE from SAN DIEGO COMIC CON 2012 to see how our car wrap turned out.
Same wrap time, same wr…. yeah, you get the point.
