For all you Californians out there! Yeah you! Whats your favorite part of California? The weather? The beach? The city life? The food? With so many great features its almost impossible to have just one favorite part of California, so don’t even worry about narrowing it down!
Personally, I think one of the best parts of California is the coastline that gives us beaches from the Oregon border all the way down to the Mexico border. No matter what part of California you’re in, the furthest you can be from the coast is about 3 hours but for most people living in metropolitan areas the drive is an hour or less….all you have to do is head West!
The proximity makes them convenient but what makes our beaches truly spectacular is how beautiful they are. The warm, grainy sand leading into the deep pool of blue that thins into a lighter blue that builds a little foam as the waves make their way on the shore. Looking further down the ocean, the melodic rhythm of the waves building up and then crashing down can soothe you to sleep.
When the sun goes down is when it’s at its best. The sun slowly starts hiding behind the coastline, creating one of the prettiest spectacles nature has to offer. The sun keeps slowly heading down until you just about can’t see it anymore, and this creates an amazing orange color since the sun is reflecting off of the ocean.
Our beaches provide us so much natural beauty, we must capture it! Thankfully, not only do we have the capability to do so ourselves, but there are also professionals who do it much better!
Growing up in the SoCal surf scene, Reggie Abbott understands how aesthetically pleasing the our beaches can be, and started doing ocean photography at his favorite local SoCal beaches. He puts emphasis in finding the perfect combination of water and light when taking his photos, because he knows they have breath-taking results.
Media Mix 365 in Santa Ana was looking to spice up their office and with the help of Reggie’s photography we were able to do so. Rather than print the photo and hang it on the wall, we decided to make the photo the whole wall.
Using the same vinyl we use to wrap vehicles, we printed one of Reggie’s sensational photos onto vinyl and fit it to the size of one of the walls at the office.
The result is amazing, not only do the wall and the office look significantly nicer, but the photo itself is a testament to how beautiful nature can be.
Reggie Abbott does an amazing job of capturing the ocean at its prettiest, and has galleries of jaw-dropping photos. Check out his instagram for more @reggieabbott!
